His latest single ‘Put My Hands On You’ (release on 18th Sep. 2015) is a collaboration with buzzworthy hip hop artist Anderson .Paak (who was recently featured on six songs on Dr Dre’s latest album Compton), and scene DJs such as esta. (Soulection) and Mr. Carmack (Soulection) resulting in a deep house song fused with R&B and hip hop. Trendsetting 3D video director, Oui, has produced the highly anticipated music video for the single, a testament to DEAN’s commitment to produce not only great songs, but also great visual works of art.

Dean had only begun to introduce himself earlier this year with the first release of ‘I’m Not Sorry’ featuring Eric Bellinger, a vibrant hip hop/ future R&B club track with an undercurrent of DJ influences. Since the release, he has toured Washington D.C., Miami, Chicago and Atlanta, featured on U.S. radio, and has been highly praised by industry veterans such as Cool & Dre and veteran radio personalities; and was featured on Hypetrak; all of which is highly atypical for a South Korean new artist.

DEAN began his musical journey as a hip hop artist at age 16, beginning his career as part of a crew with Keith Ape (whose single “It G Ma” boasts over 10 million YouTube views).  By the age of 18, DEAN discovered his talent for singing and his gift of creating infectious melodies. Now having written chart toppers for K-pop boy bands such as VIXX and EXODEAN has already proven himself as a successful hit maker considering the K-pop hit “Growl” for EXO sold over ONE million units in 2013.

For his own project, DEAN successfully created a hybrid sound, for himself as an artist, that is uniquely his own, but still captivates the listener. The project covers a myriad of styles ranging from indie rock, pop, EDM, hip hop, UK garage, Trap Musik, and soul; while still remaining rooted in R&B. His first single released only on Soundcloud, “Here & Now” featuring Mila J garnered over 200K plays in less than a month.

“There are lots of legendary artists like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Michael Jackson,” says DEAN. “The one thing that their work has in common is that it accurately reflects the times like no other artists can do. I want to capture the same exact sentiment in my own music. I want people to listen back to my music in the same way and be impacted.” And with an immense wealth of talent, moxie, artistic range, relentless hustle, and that ever elusive X factor on all four fronts, DEAN is certain to be one of 2015‘s most talked about artists cementing the future of R&B music.”
