Norwegian singer and musician Astrid S has announced her anticipated self-titled debut EP to be released May 20th via Virgin EMI. The EP will consist of five tracks, including “Paper Thin”, which is available to stream now, and lead single “Hurts So Good”.
For the EP, Astrid S worked with a number of acclaimed songwriters and producers including Robert Habolin (Zara Larsson), Emily Warren (5 Seconds of Summer, OMI) and Nick Ruth (Nick Jonas, Ellie Goulding, Wiz Khalifa). Lead single “Hurts So Good” was written by Lindy Robbins (Jason Derulo, Demi Lovato) and Julia Michaels (Gwen Stefani, Selena Gomez, Little Mix) and produced by Max Martin Studios and MAG.
As well as previously unheard songs, the EP includes the studio version of “Paper Thin”, an acoustic session of which was premiered in 2015 by The Line Of Best Fit who chose it as their Song Of The Day, describing it as “a delicate whisper of a track”.

The early tracks released by Astrid S were met with unprecedented success and acclaim: singles such as “2AM” and “Hyde” helped her music surpass 100 million Spotify streams worldwide, with “2AM” reaching 5x Platinum status. The 19-year-old won an MTV EMA Award for Best Norwegian Act in 2015 and soon after featured on Avicii’s “Waiting For Love” remix EP. Recent duet with producer Matoma, “Running Out” is rapidly climbing the Global Spotify Chart, hitting over 500,000 streams daily.
Critical acclaim for Astrid S has grown from in her native country to across the globe. Nylon quickly dubbed her “Norway’s next great pop export”, and Gigwise included her in their list of Artists That Are Going To Be Huge in 2016, dubbing her a “pop-noir sensation”. Added to that, The Fader debuted her “Hyde” video and Spotify included Astrid S in their Spotlight on 2016 list.
Astrid S has been announced to join US musician, actor and YouTube sensation Troye Sivan on an 18-date tour across Europe in April and May. While in London, she will also perform her debut UK headline show at London’s The Social – tickets for which sold out in less than 24 hours.
