[Alexandros] reveals music video for “NEW WALL”
［Alexandros］has been more active than ever and they are making their way to the world. The band has won The 30th Japan Gold Disc Award for New Artist of the Year, an award presented to the top CD selling artists who made a major debut in 2016. Outside of Japan, their latest album “ALXD” has been released in Taiwan and EU with album tour expanding to Hong Kong and Taiwan. They also just performed at SXSW 2016 and making their name known in the international scenes.
The band unveiled the music video for “NEW WALL” from upcoming double a-side single “NEW WALL / I Want U to Love Me”, set for April 20th release.
The concept of the video is overcoming various walls, which is a general theme in life. The band performance in front of the giant wall was shot at quarry in Tochigi prefecture, approximately 2 hours away from Tokyo. It took 13 hours to shoot the scene and the temperature dropped to 2 °C (35 °F) by night in the cold February weather as their hands froze playing instruments.
As the title suggests, wall is a major keyword in the video, which is symbolized by the band members performing against gigantic 10 meter wall. Other scenes show various young people in streets of Tokyo and sand hill struggle to overcome their own wall. Overall the video is encouraging and gives a push to those who are challenging and struggling.
Music video and the behind the scene footages are included in the limited edition CD of upcoming double A side single “NEW WALL / I Want U to Love Me”, scheduled for April 20th.
