‘City of Stars’ From ‘La La Land’ Wins Best Original Song at 2017 Golden Globes

(January 8th 2017)    “City of Stars” from the movie musical La La Land, which was scored by Justin Hurwitz has just been crowned the Best Original Song at the Golden Globes. This song also topped Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” from Trolls, as well as “Faith” from Sing, “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana and the title track from Gold.

La La Land also took the prize for best original score just before the song award.

City of Stars” is originally performed by Ryan Gosling’s jazz obsessive in La La Land, before it becomes a duet with Emma Stone later in the film.

Composer Justin Hurwitz was on hand at the ceremony to accept the award. Immediately following, Hurwitz and “City of Stars” co-writers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul won the this year’s Golden Globe award.
